1970s Delivery Truck Pin

1970s Delivery Truck Pin

Beep-beep! Newspaper truck coming through! This 1.1" enamel pin was inspired by the fleet of trucks that hauled New York Times papers in the 1970s and 1980s.

For decades, dark green Times trucks delivered freshly printed newspapers to destinations throughout the tri-state area. In 1974, the newspaper rolled out a more modern look. Sixty new trucks, painted blue and white, took to the road with the newspaper’s iconic logo divided on three lines and tilted diagonally to stand out. The Times slogan, “All the News That’s Fit to Print,” was painted on both sides and a corporate logo was affixed to the cab.

This hard enamel pin measures 1.1" wide and is made of black nickel plating and placed on a 2.5" x 1.25" backer card. Our Early Edition pin collection was made by Three Potato Four, a husband and wife led product and graphic design studio located outside of Philadelphia.
